Ministry Updates

The Institute of Self-Worth®
Update
April 3, 2008

Dear Friends,

We have been very busy for the last several weeks and decided we would have to put the March and April newsletters together. Thank you for understanding.

On February 27th our daughter, Risa and her husband, Patrick, gave us a grandson. Noah Wyatt weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz and was 21.5 inches tall. He is growing and changing very quickly. Everyone is doing fine. We have enclosed a picture of Wyatt and his Granddad.

We are working toward the production of an ISW praise and worship CD/DVD. They will be made with a split track so that they can be used for accompaniment with instruments only or with the instruments and the vocals together. We are making this available on DVD so that it can be used in places that have no worship teams such as prison chapel services and in smaller churches or home meetings. No matter where we are, if we will surround ourselves with worship it will bring the presence of God, which prepares the soil of our hearts to receive the seed of the Word.

Steve Brown, a cast member of The Promise in Branson, is heading up this project. It will be produced in a local studio with professional musicians from this area. There will be 20 contemporary praise and worship songs divided into 4 worship sessions. We hope to have them available in May. Please check back often for more information.

We are in the process of having the audio portion of the ISW curriculum transcribed in order to facilitate having it translated into different languages. It will first be translated into some of the dialects of the Burmese language.

From Left to Right: David Moore, Bob Tidwell, Pastor David Biakkung, Adam Simmons, Rex Wilkinson, Vic Porter

Recently we were privileged to have Pastor David Biakkung from Burma in our office for two days. While he was here, we discussed placing the transcribed ISW curriculum in printed form only into the hands of 1000 Burmese pastors. The rural areas do not have access to electricity so they need the contents printed in their language.

We are working with Pastor Biakkung to set up a Pastors' Conference in October so I can introduce and give the Burmese ISW curriculum to these pastors. There are over 55,000,000 people that live in Burma. Ninety percent are Buddhists and seven percent are Christians. Because of the military rule the people are suppressed and are looking for hope. By placing 1000 ISW curriculums we can cover the entire nation giving them the message of God's grace and faith, and the hope they looking for.

We are still working on the pricing of this project. By having the printing done in Burma, we believe we can accomplish this project for under $12.00 per curriculum. Would you like to help give the Burmese people the hope they are looking for by sponsoring 10 or more curriculum?

On March 24th I was privileged to speak at the ISW graduation of 36 men at the North Central Unit of the Arkansas Department of Corrections in Calico Rock. Chaplain Don Yancey has been very faithful to use his influence to encourage other chaplains all over the US to use the ISW curriculum. We appreciate all that he does.

Pastor Frimpong (far right) with Church leaders

I just returned from the Washington DC area where I held a leadership conference at the World Ministry Church International with Pastor Frimpong. This church is made up of people from many countries in Africa. I also met a friend of Pastor Timothy Rai who is using ISW in Nepal. We believe the contacts made during this meeting will open up several African nations to the placement of ISW curriculum.

Rev. Dr. Kam, Pastor of Chin Baptist Church, Silver Spring, MD

While I was in that area I was, also, invited to speak for Rev. Dr. C. Duh Kam, Pastor of the Chin Baptist Mission Church in Silver Spring, MD. This is a Burmese Church.

Several months ago we signed a publishing contract with Tate Publishing in Mustang, OK to reprint the book. It has been edited multiple times and has a new layout and cover. This project is nearing completion and it should be available in your local Christian bookstore in June. You can also order from our website. Borrowed Offenses will now be available in printed and audio formats. We have, also, completed the revision of our web site, which you see here.

We are currently working on The Institute of Self-Worth® A Curriculum for Life, Volume II. The Lord has laid some other things on our hearts to accomplish. We are not yet sure how they will come about. Please pray with us for His wisdom.

The projects we will be working on are:

  1. A Self-Worth DVD program designed for high school assembly presentation.
  2. The Institute of Self-Worth Children's Curriculum

We are now in 1736 locations in all 50 states and 73 countries. One of the most interesting locations is on a war ship in the Persian Gulf. Tom Finlayson in Chattanooga, TN uses ISW in county jails and prisons in his area. He has prayed with 668 inmates to come to Jesus in ISW classes since January 1, 2008. You have had a part in that!!!! Thanks for helping us make a difference in the lives of men and women all over the world.

Thank you

Vic Porter
